DUTCHESS SPRING CRAFTS FESTIVAL 2009
FROM HUDSON-CHATHAM WINERY
Here's our photos from the fest!
Chris and I met early Saturday morning, stopped for much needed coffee (Chris had been up late the night before - a no-no before a festival by the way). I too had been up until late the night before bottling this year's Malbec. So I honestly wasn't much better. We got more coffee when we arrived at the fairgrounds, after we set up, and bought ourselves some sustenance (He had a blueberry muffin and I had a scone).
After some sugar and caffeine were were both much better. You can see Chris is much happier!
We saw lots of cool stuff, and bought a few craft items. And we've decided to have the entire family recorded by a silhouette maker who we met at the show.

June 20 & 21, 2009Each June and October, the Dutchess Fairgrounds is the site for the premier arts and crafts shows in the northeast – the Annual Crafts at Rhinebeck Festival. Both shows are juried and attract some of the finest artists from around the world. The June Crafts at Rhinebeck is a “high end” contemporary show, while the fall show has more the flavor of a family festival with a petting zoo and hay rides, as well as crafts.

Saturday, June 13
At the Hudson-Chatham Winery in Columbia County, NY, we feel lucky to live in an area that has some of the highest quality local foods around, and we are always looking for ways to share them.
This Saturday, June 13, the winery will feature goodies from several outstanding local producers, highlighted by grilled grass-fed beef burgers from Kinderhook Farm.
Enjoy a wine tasting and stay for a picnic. Everything is a la carte, so you can choose to eat - or drink - only what you want.
If You've Never Tried Grass-Fed Beef, Now's the Time!
At Kinderhook Farm, just over the hill from the winery, Georgia and Lee Ranney raise beef cattle on a 100% grass and legume diet that includes no grain, antibiotics, growth hormone, or animal by-products. This makes for a leaner, more flavorful meat that is as good as it gets.
Georgia and Lee are famous for their grilled sliders - mini burgers that they cook to perfection. At this event, you can top your slider with an all-natural chutney from Beth's Farm Kitchen. The taste combinations are incredible, and can be paired with anything from a crisp Hudson-Chatham Riesling to a full-bodied Merlot.
Just-Picked Salad Greens to Complement the Burgers
Holmquest Farms is a family owned and operated business based in neighboring Hudson, and we're delighted that they'll be providing salad greens for our guests. Their season is just starting, and their salad greens and baby spinach are just-picked fresh! The perfect accompaniment - or topping - to a gourmet slider.
CHATHAM VILLAGE CAKE SHOPPE
Yummy Cookies & Cupcakes
If you're particular about your pastries, you're in for a real treat. The Chatham Village Cake Shoppe's cookies and cupcakes are made with real butter and the finest ingredients. You'll want to savor every bite - especially if you pair your sweets with a glass of Hudson-Chatham Blanc de Blanc or a dessert wine.
What a Day!
Enjoy great local foods and the award-winning wines of the Hudson-Chatham Winery on our beautiful grounds. See you at the Winery!
